Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive In Amsterdam, Netherlands
Arrive at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure to independently explore Amsterdam.
Day 2: Amsterdam
This small nation of maritime traders has played a pivotal role in global history for centuries. Despite reclaiming 40% of its land from the sea and maintaining a thriving agricultural surplus in one of Europe's most densely populated regions, Holland retains its charming and picturesque appeal. Start your day with a canal cruise, offering a unique perspective of Amsterdam, followed by a visit to a diamond centre where skilled craftsmen cut and polish precious stones. The afternoon is yours to explore, perhaps visiting museums or observing the abundance of cyclists. Here's a fun fact: Amsterdam has four times more bicycles than cars.
Day 3: Amsterdam - Aalsmeer / Keukenhof - Delft - Rotterdam
Begin your day with a visit to the Aalsmeer flower auction or Keukenhof (during tulip season). Explore the Royal Delft pottery factory in historic Delft and marvel at Rotterdam's futuristic architecture during a sightseeing tour with a Local Guide. Today's journey covers 99 miles (160 km).
Day 4: Rotterdam - Gouda - Arnhem
Arrive in Gouda, which is famous for its cheese. Explore the medieval Market Square, visit the Gothic-style Town Hall, and see the historic Goudse Waag. Experience an interactive cheese encounter. Continue to Arnhem, known for the WWII Battle of Arnhem, and visit the John Frost Bridge, named after the British forces commander. Enjoy some free time for independent exploration. Today's journey covers 71 miles (115 km)
Day 5: Arnhem - Giethoorn – Groningen
This morning, visit the charming village of Giethoorn, known for its canal-laden streets and unique charm. Then, proceed to Groningen, a historic trade hub from the 13th century, now celebrated as the "World Cycling City." The city centre is entirely pedestrianised, with an extensive network of cycle paths, making it one of the Netherlands' most bike-friendly cities. Today's journey covers 118 miles (190 km).
Day 6: GRONINGEN–ZAANSE SCHANS–VOLENDAM–AMSTERDAM
Cross the 19-mile Barrier Dam, an integral part of a remarkable system comprising 1,200 miles of dikes, dams, and dunes constructed over the past nine centuries to safeguard the area of the Netherlands situated below sea level. Explore a wooden clog workshop in Zaanse Schans, followed by a visit to the fishing village of Volendam. Return to Amsterdam and savour dinner at a local restaurant. Today's journey spans 137 miles (220 km).
Day 7: Amsterdam
Your memorable journey through the Netherlands concludes with breakfast this morning. Reflect on the picturesque canals, charming villages, and cultural wonders that have made your experience unforgettable. Cherish the vibrant tulip fields, mesmerising architecture, and warm Dutch hospitality as you bid farewell to the beautiful memories of your trip.
