Day 1: Arrival at Mumbai

  • Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 3:30 PM to commence the journey to Maharashtra.
  • Complete registration and check-in formalities.
  • Traditional warm welcome and welcome drink for guests.
  • Depart from Mumbai for Nashik with scenic views during an overnight journey and dinner served on board.

Day 2: Nashik

  • Reach Nashik with an early morning arrival.
  • Breakfast served onboard before deboarding to explore Godavari Ghat rituals and nearby markets.
  • Visit Grover Zampa vineyards, learn about wine-making techniques, and enjoy wine tasting.
  • Lunch back on Deccan Odyssey; train moves to Aurangabad with dinner served onboard.

Day 3: Aurangabad – Ellora Caves

  • Arrive in Aurangabad, named after the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
  • Sightseeing tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ellora Caves.
  • Explore the 17 Hindu, 12 Buddhist, and 5 Jain caves, including the Kailash Temple.
  • Lunch on board; relax or enjoy cocktails as the train heads to Jalgaon for Ajanta Caves.

Day 4: Ajanta Caves

  • Reach Jalgaon; explore the Ajanta Caves' 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments.
  • Discover sculptures and paintings showcasing Buddhist art forms.
  • Lunch onboard from Kolhapur; leisure time for board games or spa massages.
  • Dinner served on the train; overnight stay.

Day 5: Kolhapur

  • Morning leisure time, had breakfast and scenic views in Kolhapur.
  • City tour visiting New Palace Museum, Town Hall Museum, and shopping for Kolhapuri chappals.
  • Visit Mahalaxmi Temple; experience the Mardani Khel martial arts performance.
  • Return to the train for the journey to Goa with dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Goa

  • Explore Fontainhas in Panjim, known for its Portuguese-influenced architecture.
  • Visit Ribandar's churches, St. Augustine tower ruins, and Sahakari spice plantation.
  • Enjoy a traditional lunch and folk dance performance at the plantation.
  • Dinner on the train; travel to Ratnagiri crossing the Konkan region.

Day 7: Sindhudurg

  • Begin the day with breakfast; visit Sindhudurg city for tourist attractions.
  • Return to the train for lunch and optional return to the city for further exploration.
  • Depart for Mumbai in the evening with dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Departure from Mumbai

  • Conclude the Maharashtra journey.
  • Guests have breakfast and are dropped off at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, Mumbai.
